Last Sunday, we finally got around to celebrating Danny's birthday with a few of his classmates at the indoor playground called Jolo's in Sindelfingen. I must say it was the most relaxed birthday party he's ever had. ;-)
He had 3 boys and one girl, plus his sister Jenna with him and they were all very polite and nice. I could see why he wanted to invite them. :D Most were dressed as pirates, even Jenna, except for the other girl, but it was voluntary anyway. We also had a lady who painted faces, so the kids really enjoyed that.
Danny got some Powerminer figures from Lego and could not wait to get home and put them together. (He actually asked to leave his party early.) LOL That is exactly what he did when he got home. Raced to his room, threw off this jacket and proceeded to tear up the packaging to put together his birthday present. He was so happy and content. I haven't seen him that way in a long time. Now he plans on collecting them. ;-) It's great to see him enjoying something with such intensity.
Here are some impressions from that day.
Here is the pirate invitation I made using a template I downloaded from the internet. I just added my own text, printed it on cardstock, distressed it, inked the edges, wrapped string around it with a knot and then personalized it with a distressed tag onto the string.
Here I made little thank you bags with my cricut and filled with candy.
We had pirate muffins topped with canon balls out of chocolate.
The muffins were a hit!
The face painter did a great job!
Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the dinner they had. It was a HUGE tray FULL of french fries with chicken nuggets, burgers and a few frankfurters. And aftwards they all got a mixed slushi that tasted more like water than anything else. LOL But at least it "looked" cool.
I'm glad Danny finally got to play with some of his classmates outside of the classroom environment so they could see what a great kid Danny really is. ;-)
